About Manica K.

Manica has shaken up the world of picture books with successful books published in Slovenia, Brazil, China, Turkey, Pakistan and the United States. Trained as an architect, Manica gained broad insight into how to approach visual problems and soon found her niche illustrating picture books. From writing the text, preparing the art and designing her books first with Slovenian publishers, but soon after a trip to the Bologna Book Fair, others discovered her unique handmade work—Manica sews, glues, crochets and draws her picture books.They are not only beautiful, interesting and inviting to look at and touch, but also educational and (immorally) educational. She has gained widespread recognition, confirmed by numerous awards that have noted her innovative approach and use of unusual procedures.
