Edward Kinsella III was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated with honors from Ringling School of Art and Design in 2006 and has since been commissioned by a variety of magazines and publishers including The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, and The Criterion Collection. He has illustrated four books for Folio Society including Stephen King’s The Shining, Misery, and Pet Sematary.

Edward has been profiled in Communication Arts Magazine and his work was included in Taschen’s Illustration Now! Number 5. Edward’s illustrations have frequently been featured and awarded in annual juried illustration exhibitions. His accolades include six medals from The Society of Illustrators New York, Eighteen Communication Arts Awards of Excellence, Four Cube Awards from the Art Directors Club of New York, Two Gold Cube Awards from the 3x3 International Illustration Pro Show, Three Awards from The Society of Illustrators Los Angeles, and three Spectrum Fantastic Art Awards. Edward’s original illustrations and fine art are collected and exhibited throughout the world.

Edward has been a teacher of illustration since 2009 and has taught courses with The Illustration Academy, Visual Arts Passage, and the Sam Fox School of Washington University in St. Louis.

Edward’s work is created traditionally in his St. Louis studio using mixed media including graphite, ink, gouache, watercolor, colored pencil, acrylic, acryla gouache, and cut paper.
